We returned to Holbav 9 days after our last visit, when we went up with the gifts of Santa Claus to the 3 families.
Then I saw a rusty, shabby hut on the side of the road, but I didn’t care. It never occurred to us that someone lived there. It seemed “thrown in the trash.”
Our friend Noemi, another extraordinary man with a huge soul, told us that a family with a few children lives there. We couldn’t believe it… We went back there and put our hands on our heads! While we were bikers, tattooed and clumsy, they brought tears to our eyes. I knew instantly that this was not the last time we had seen Holbav this year. From that moment on, the madness started. “As soon as possible, these children should be in decent condition!” We said to ourselves. Winter had come, and we did not agree to leave things like that.
I got home and launched a call on FB. Incredible how quickly the community mobilized, moto and more. People everywhere donated as much as they could, so in 9 days we managed to order and have this office container, transformed into a “fairytale” house, as a fan said.
Thanks to you, the children have cots, mattresses, duvets, pillows, brand new linens. That new stove immediately warmed the house. Sink, water tank, chests of drawers, table, chairs, even a Christmas tree (made by calarepedouaroti.ro)… just about everything you needed as far as this space allowed. And an icon on one of the walls!
Each child found sweets under the pillow, and a plush “mule” was waiting for them in bed. They received new, clean clothes, all sorts of things that would make them feel a little different from last Christmas. I left there mop, bucket, detergent, dishes… everything new! Toothbrushes, toothpaste, liquid soap, towels, etc. Soon, a volunteer from Bucharest (from Free Miorița) will install a solar panel with battery, especially for the light bulb.
We can’t tell how much we trembled for fear that the house would take her downhill, while she was being transported there in the mountains, on some roads where you were afraid of 4x4s as well. Those people from the town hall brought 2 tractors so we could take it down from the truck and take it in good condition up… the highest 😊
Thank you for the skill and care shown in those extreme conditions. When I saw Lambada dancing on the tractor and the trailer, in which the house was, on that mud, I said, “God, don’t go to bed now!” I lost ten pounds. ‘
If he took her back to the valley, we who were in the back cars would take her like a bowling ball. Not to mention what could have happened to the “house.” I said Our Father at least 15 times, yesterday! 😊 May God “LIKE” you!
Yes, there is MAGIC!
When people everywhere, many of them anonymous, decide that SOMETHING SHOULD be done, IMMEDIATELY miracles happen!
We were just a handful of people there, we assembled, we cleaned, we did the right thing. (Noemi and Csaby, you have golden hands!) But without you, those who did not remain indifferent, these beautiful things would not have been possible.
