An acoustic Phoenix performance, joyful children, and a clear mission: art changes destinies. Children’s Day was celebrated in Brezoi alongside Bikers For Humanity volunteers and local kids, at the long-awaited inauguration of the Bikers For Humanity Cultural Center.

On June 1st, in Brezoi, the dream of the Bikers for Humanity motorcyclists came true — the Bikers For Humanity Cultural Center officially opened its doors. With the support of the local community and dedicated volunteers, the center was created as a space where children from the area can access art, music, and alternative education — completely free of charge.

The occasion was marked by a heartfelt acoustic concert by the legendary band Phoenix, ambassadors of Bikers For Humanity, held right in front of the newly completed center. Iconic songs, beaming children’s smiles, and the cheerful voices of biker volunteers made the day truly unforgettable.

Cristian Hrubaru, founder of Bikers for Humanity, spoke passionately about the meaning of this project:

“All Bikers for Humanity projects are special and close to my heart, but the Cultural Center in Brezoi is by far the most spectacular. From the first scoop of the excavator last year to the day of the inauguration, I envisioned everything… a little ‘bud’ smiling in the sun, filled with instruments, even the portraits of artists on the walls — I dreamed it all, absolutely everything. But the opening day went far beyond expectations. A sea of happy children, beautiful people, big tattooed bikers moved to tears, joy everywhere you looked. I’m so proud to be part of such a wonderful community! The story continues — with people like this, there’s no way we’re stopping!”

The center is equipped with a wide array of instruments and activity areas — from pianos and drums to guitars and supplies for painting, dance, and martial arts classes. Friends from the mountain rescue team Salvamont are even preparing a climbing wall, rounding out a space designed to inspire young minds and nurture strong, positive values in the lives of children from Brezoi and the surrounding region.

This initiative continues Bikers for Humanity’s long-standing efforts to build — quite literally — a better world. For nearly a decade, the organization has brought together kind-hearted people ready to make a real difference.

As Cristian said, the story goes on. And here comes the next step! From June 20–22, Brezoi becomes the capital of Romanian rock during the “Bikers for Humanity Rock Fest 2025.” With major bands on the lineup — Cargo, Vama, Vița de Vie, Holograf, Trooper, Bosquito — the festival promises unforgettable performances and, most importantly, another concrete step in supporting the community: a large portion of proceeds will be donated to Dăruiește Viață, helping build a pediatric campus within Marie Curie Children’s Hospital in Bucharest.

More than ever, this year we celebrate solidarity and the meaningful things that can only be achieved — together.

Together, we are Bikers For Humanity!
