365 Bikers for Humanity volunteers helped build the future of the Therapeutic Center for Children with Autism in Farcaș, Vrancea
Farcaș, Vrancea County – Over 365 Bikers for Humanity volunteers transformed the village of Farcaș into a true construction site of solidarity for a weekend. In the locality of approximately 200 inhabitants, motorcyclists, volunteers and supporters of the cause worked together on the first episode of the project dedicated to building the Therapeutic Center for Children with Autism, developed together with the Saint Stelian Protector of Children Association Focșani.
The action also marks 10 years of Bikers for Humanity construction sites, a decade in which the community has demonstrated that solidarity can literally build hope for those who need it most.
In a single day of work, the volunteers managed to achieve all the proposed objectives, in an example of organization, involvement and teamwork. The energy of those present transformed the construction site into a place where every hour of work meant a step forward for the children and families who will benefit from this center.
The results of the construction site reflect the scale of the effort made by the volunteers: the slab over the foundation of the Parents’ Module was completed, from the installation of the foil and polystyrene to the reinforcement with steel and the pouring of concrete; 27 cubic meters of concrete were poured; the perimeter excavation for the waterproofing of the Parents’ Module was carried out; 12 tons of reinforcing steel were sorted and organized; and at the Reception Module three foundation straps were executed and half of the foundation beams were fabricated and installed. At the same time, the volunteers produced 30 reinforcement columns, of which 23 for the Parents’ Module and 7 for the Reception Module, fulfilling all the technical objectives set for this stage of the project.
“This is not a weekend project, nor a one-year project. It is a promise we make to the children who will need this center. Bikers for Humanity will return to Farcaș until all five buildings of the Therapeutic Center are completed. We take on this responsibility and will put into this project the same energy, involvement and solidarity that have defined us for 10 years. I am deeply grateful to all the volunteers, partners and the team of the Saint Stelian Association, who set aside their time to build hope. Every hour of work, every gesture and every person present on the construction site made a difference. Together, we continue this story to the end.”,
declared Cristian Hrubaru, founder of Bikers for Humanity.
The Farcaș project does not stop here. In the coming period the module built by the Bikers for Humanity volunteers will be completed, and the organization will focus its resources on supporting the development of the entire Therapeutic Center for Children with Autism.
Upon completion, the complex will comprise five buildings, dedicated both to the children who benefit from therapy and to the families who accompany them, becoming one of the most important projects of this kind in Romania.
Bikers for Humanity reaffirms its commitment to remain alongside the community in Farcaș and the Saint Stelian Association until the center is completed.
Together we are Bikers for Humanity!
